# Read environment variables

Access the current environment variables with `process.env`.

```ts index.ts icon="https://mintcdn.com/bun-1dd33a4e-farm-e3947f67-bump-ci-service-containers/G_XhN1oDVgnSqFyt/icons/typescript.svg?fit=max&auto=format&n=G_XhN1oDVgnSqFyt&q=85&s=81c6f421ff8ec17a56b2e6b6fac3027d" theme={"theme":{"light":"github-light","dark":"dracula"}}
process.env.API_TOKEN; // => "secret"
```

Bun also exposes these variables as `Bun.env`, an alias of `process.env`.

```ts index.ts icon="https://mintcdn.com/bun-1dd33a4e-farm-e3947f67-bump-ci-service-containers/G_XhN1oDVgnSqFyt/icons/typescript.svg?fit=max&auto=format&n=G_XhN1oDVgnSqFyt&q=85&s=81c6f421ff8ec17a56b2e6b6fac3027d" theme={"theme":{"light":"github-light","dark":"dracula"}}
Bun.env.API_TOKEN; // => "secret"
```

To print all currently-set environment variables, run `bun --print process.env`.

```sh terminal icon="terminal" theme={"theme":{"light":"github-light","dark":"dracula"}}
bun --print process.env
```

```txt theme={"theme":{"light":"github-light","dark":"dracula"}}
{
  BAZ: "stuff",
  FOOBAR: "aaaaaa",
  <lots more lines>
}
